What type of insurance do you carry?
As a broker we have a trust in place as per FMCSA standards. Balz, Inc. contracts with carriers that normally carry an industry standard of $1,000,000.00 automobile liability and $100,000.00 cargo. Our office, keeps on file, a current certificate of insurance for each carrier we utilize and our company name is listed as the certificate holder on each certificate. Copies of these certificates are available upon request.

What is the transit time for my load?
    Blue - East of the Mississippi River is 1-2 days
    White - West of the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains is 2-3 days
    Red - The Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Coast is 3-6 days

Do you do international shipping?
Yes, we handle shipments into continental Canada, however at this time we do not ship overseas only to the various ports throughout the continental United States. We can provide drivers that have their ‘TWIC’ (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card for any shipment needed to be picked up or delivered to a pier.

How long are your rates good for?
Standard rates expire after 30 days from date of issue. Balz, Inc. also has contracted rates that are good for up to a year’s time.

Can you get me a truck?
Balz, Inc. has an approximate base of over 1,000 carriers to choose from. So if you have 15 to 30 minutes, allow Balz, Inc. to make calls to their contracted carriers and we can answer that question for you swiftly.

Can you move just a pallet or two for me?
Yes we handle ltl (less than truckload), truckload, over-dimensional and refrigerated shipments.

I am on the west coast will you still be able to handle our shipments?
Yes, while our official hours are 8am to 5pm EST Monday through Friday, Balz, Inc.’s phone lines are forwarded, after the business day concludes, to an employee for any after hour need that may arise, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Can your company handle electronic billing?
Balz, Inc. is set up to bill either by snail mail, fax or email with imaging. We also have 24 hour access to your company’s shipment paperwork online through our website and your company’s access login.

What does our company do if there is any damage on a shipment?
Your company would fill out a claim form (downloadable here), and Balz Inc. would file, on your behalf, the form and all supporting documentation to initialize the claim with the carrier of record.

My company does not have any paperwork for a shipment we want to move through Balz, Inc., can you supply us with a bill of lading?
